My Approach to Art Commissions 

 You can use one of my existing paintings as a template, suggest your own colours and details or even commission me to paint a landscape or abstract  seascape from a photograph of your choice!

I've included all the details from my Etsy listing here as it is very detailed and should answer any existing questions.

These abstract paintings are just some examples of my art. Your commission will be painted in a very similar style including your personal customisations if desired.

Art Commissions Mediums

Acrylic or Oil Paint - your choice! Your art commission will be ready to hang and can be tailored to your tastes and decor.

Abstract Painting Sizes

To date the most popular sizes of abstract art commissions I have produced would be 18x24", 22x28" & 24x30". 

I am more than happy to accommodate your preferences in terms of painting size without loading prices or trying to make anyone pay more than is necessary for materials.

Text in The Art Commission

In the past I have included words in my commissioned abstract paintings. They could be based on your own writings or someone close to you.

This is a great way for you to personalise your art commission and have a bespoke artwork that really means something to you and your family.

Here are some examples of this below. The Icelandic phrase in the first one translates as 'Deep Calls To Deep.'

The second Art Commission was based on Ballyholme Bay, Bangor County Down.

The poetry text reads:

'The Irish Sea waves its way

Into the hollows of the heart

And things stranded

Find a flow again.'

Large Abstract Wall Art

It goes without saying that a larger canvas costs more than a smaller one but I want to make sure I don't overload prices just because the painting is larger. 

It's also important to realise that the larger the canvas the more the painting process will differ.

Think about writing on a postage stamp compared to writing on an A4 page. While what you are trying to do in theory is similar the practice is very different - you can only write so much on the back of a postage stamp.

I can tell a larger story in paint with a larger canvas than I can with a smaller one, but depending on your room and wall space you will need to consider what the colour story you want me to tell actually is.

That's why an art commission is a series of negotiations!

More About Art Commissions

I genuinely love to take art commissions but I hope you understand it won't be exactly the same as the photos on the listing, just very similar. It will be an original artwork in itself.

If you have questions about this or wish to customise your artwork further this is no problem at all. I will send you pictures throughout the process, and I can alter the painting to your tastes throughout the process. After I finish the painting for you I will send you photos for your approval.


Shipping Information:
Your artwork should arrive in perfect condition, it will be wrapped in layers of extra thick bubble wrap and cardboard so that your painting is thoroughly protected.

Your artwork will be dispatched by a reliable courier service. A tracking number will be provided upon shipping and your painting will be insured. I will be in touch throughout the process so that misunderstandings are avoided.

It is possible to pay in instalments and if you are interested in this form of payment do not hesitate to get in touch.
